Two Stakes for Clyde

The final weekend of interior racing for 1999 was the best of racing anywhere for Doug Clyde. Doug has over twenty years of racing on the B.C. Interior circuit and has had a great deal of sucess. This year racing sucess has been elusive for Clyde but his two year old Soi Cowboy winnning the $2000 Interior Futurity and his six year old Chief Fire romping home in the $2000 Coquihalla Classic. Clyde legged jockey Travis Wilkison for both wins. Soi Cowboy driving finish put him a length in front of Fired Cooper’s Nodtotheheros. Chief Fire moved quickly after the half to take command and galloped home an easy five length victor.

Travis Wilkinson returned to racing late in the season and enjoyed his best day of the year after he rode his third straight winner in the last race aboard Jim Strachan Jimjimmyjohn.
